Windy Hill Elementary School

CrossRoad’s outreach to Windy Hill began shortly after we moved to our current location, when we discovered there was a low-income elementary school located less than a mile from the church. Wanting to love and serve the community around us, CrossRoad began helping to fill much-needed gaps at Windy Hill.

We participate in a variety of outreach projects to benefit the elementary school, which include hearing and vision screening, helping with the book fair, a school supply drive, a Christmas store where parents choose gifts for their kids, outdoor beautification projects, a food pantry, clothing assistance, and a new mentoring program.  Because the needs are vast, our involvement with Windy Hill continues to increase as CrossRoad members catch the vision to love and serve the community around us. 

Windy Hill Elementary is located in a low-income area; more than 70 percent of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch.  We want to be a church that sees lives being redeemed and communities being transformed through authentic compassion, and it’s exciting to see that happening at Windy Hill!
