“God created human beings;
he created them godlike, reflecting God's nature.
He created them male and female.”—Genesis 1:27 (The Message)
The Bible tells us that we all are bearers of God’s image. Yet as men and women, we bear that image in different ways. This new initiative in men’s ministry at CrossRoad Church is a work in progress. We’re seeking to explore what it means to be made in God’s image as a man; what does that mean for me in my relationships with others, in my work, and in how I spend my time?
Once a month on a Saturday morning, we get together for food, fun, and a fast-paced, Bible-based message, with small group breakouts afterwards to discuss what we’ve seen and heard. This is a great opportunity to hang out with friends, both old ones and the ones you’ve just met, and be inspired and transformed by God’s word. We’ve covered a range of topics, from prayer to “Extreme Makeover, Valentine’s Day Edition”!
Our “Band of Brothers” meets every Thursday evening at 7:00pm at the church in Rm 217/218. We’ve started out with a look at the Christian men’s classic, Wild At Heart, by John Eldredge. This group is open for men to join at any time.
We’ve formed a group of guys who volunteer their talents to assist those in our church and community who need assistance with such tasks as home handyman work and car repair. Email men@crcumc.org if you would like to get involved.
We do special events from time to time, so be sure to check back for more info and upcoming dates!
