Women's Ministry Announces Fall Kick-off Dinner with a Twist!
LAST CHANCE! CRC’s Women’s Ministry kicks off the season and highlights their upcoming offerings for ladies when they host their Fall Kick-Off Dinner on Wednesday, Sept. 3, at 6:30 p.m. Tickets (just $10.00), which must be purchased in advance, are on sale now in The Lobby. As a way of showcasing the talented and successful women of CRC, ladies who sell Southern Living, Tupperware, jewelery, etc., can apply for a table to showcase their goods in a non-sales or recruiting environment during the party. It’s a great way to share and make contacts for the future. Applications for these unique non-selling and non-booking tables are available now in the Children’s Ministry Office. Info Meetings Scheduled for Crown Financial Class
If you’ve ever been curious about how God wants you to deal with your money, the Crown Financial studies do an amazing job of helping you sort through it all. To highlight the newly-forming study and growth sessions, there will be two Crown Financial informational meetings about the upcoming class; registration will be available at the meetings, to be held Sunday, Aug. 31, in room 233, immediately following both the 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services. Enjoy a Night of Scrapbooking at CRC!
Those of you who love creating lasting memories should check out our Scrapbooking ministry’s Friday Nite Crop on Friday, Sept. 5, from 6:30 p.m.–11:30 p.m. in The Connection Center. All levels of scrapbooking fans are welcome – even those just looking to get started – so don’t be shy! Bring your supplies, a snack, and a friend if you can. 2008 Confirmation Class Open for Registration
CRC Youth have the opportunity to attend Confirmation Classes starting Sunday, Sept. 21, and running through Sunday, Nov. 9, from 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. in Room 217/218. Confirmands (those who successfully complete the class) will become members on Sunday, Nov. 23. To register for Confirmation, please send an email with the subject line “CONFIRMATION” to cj@crcumc.org. You will then receive further instructions regarding registration by email, or pick up a registration packet at The Resource Center and return it to the Youth Ministry Office before Sunday, Sept. 15. Children's Choir Ahead; New Kids' Dance + Movement Class Announced
Our younger church family members have some exciting opportunities coming up. Children’s Choir begins Wednesday, Sept. 10, from 6:15 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. for ages 2 years old through 5th grade. The choir will be grouped as follows: 2, 3, 4 year olds; Kindergarten and 1st grade (music and dance); and 2nd through 5th grade (music). PLUS, there’s a new Movement and Dance Class for Children that’s just been added to our fall line-up. The class, for kids in grades 2-5 only, begins Wednesday, Sept. 10, from 5:00 p.m.-5:45 p.m. Class size is limited so children must be preregistered for Movement and Dance. 5K Walk/Run to Benefit Windy Hill
During the 2007-2008 school year, 74% of the students at Windy Hill Elementary qualified to receive either free or a reduced rate for lunch -- up from 67% the previous year. The cost of breakfast and lunch will increase this year, and breakfast, which has been free and available to everyone, will be fee-based. CrossRoad Church would like your help to build corporate sponsors for Windy Hill School by inviting local businesses to participate with us in The Rita Foundation Walk/Run Event at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11.
